Privacy policy

The short version

• Your birth date, time and place are used to calculate the chart in your browser. They are not sent to us.
• Charts you save are stored in your browser on this device. We can't see them.
• The name you type for a saved chart or a PDF report stays in your browser too.
• We don't use cookies, we don't run ads, and we don't sell or share personal data.
• Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages receive standard request data such as your IP address.

Calculations happen in your browser

When you open a calculator, your browser downloads the calculation code once. The chart is then computed on your own device. Your birth date, birth time, birthplace and house system are not sent to our servers, and they are not put into page addresses (URLs).

The PDF report and the solar return calendar file are also created in your browser. The calendar file contains only the time of your solar return, not your birth details.

When you follow a link from your results to another calculator on this site, for example from your birth chart to the North Node calculator, the birth details are passed along in your browser's session storage so you don't have to type them again. The next page deletes them as soon as it has read them.

Birthplace search

The list of places is stored on our site as small data files, grouped by the first letters of the place name. When you type a birthplace, your browser downloads a small index and then the file for the first two to five letters you typed, for example the file for "lo" when you type "London". The request therefore shows which group of place names was looked up, together with standard request data, but not the place you finally choose, and never your date or time of birth.

Saved charts

If you save a chart, its name and birth details are stored in your browser's local storage on this device. They are not uploaded. You can rename or delete saved charts at any time, or delete them all at once. Clearing your browser's site data, or closing a private window, also removes them.

Exporting creates a file on your device that contains the names, birth dates, times and places you saved. Keep it somewhere private. Importing reads a file you choose, in your browser.

Hosting and request data

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When your browser requests a page, a script, a font or a place file, Cloudflare receives standard request information: your IP address, the address requested, the time, your browser's user agent and the referring page. Cloudflare uses this information to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy policy. We don't combine it with anything else.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or local storage, and it doesn't build a profile of you or follow you across other websites. It records page views, the referring site, the country, the type of browser and device, and how quickly pages load.

Cookies

This site doesn't set cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Saved charts use your browser's local storage, which stays on your device and is read only by this site's own pages.

If you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, for example a birth date you want us to check. We use it only to reply and to fix problems you report, and we delete it once it's no longer needed.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes and contact

If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding advertising, we will update this page first and change the date at the top. Questions about privacy: see the contact page.
